Fall River Health Services is looking for a Pharmacy Technician is an entry-level pharmacy position, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor / Staff Pharmacist, who fills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals and performs related duties as assigned by the Pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Count, packages, and labels medications for inspection by pharmacist.
Assist with medication cart preparation including filling, delivery, billing, and crediting of medications.
Maintain drug inventory, procures medications via wholesaler, assists with medication recalls, and returns outdated medications for credit as needed.
Make routine deliveries to nursing stations and ancillary departments.
Maintain competencies as related to making IV admixtures under the supervision of the pharmacist.
Prepack unit dose medications using the pre-packer.
Answer phones.
Perform inspection of medication areas, removing outdated or contaminated products, restocking supplies and maintaining appropriate records.
Maintain patient accounts as it relates to billing of medications in Epic and Speedscript.
Education and Experience:
Must be enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician training program and register as a Pharmacy Technician-in-training with the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy.
Previous experience in a Pharmacy Setting is required.
Must obtain CPhT within 2 years per State requirements.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, command of English grammar, proficient computer skills
