Job Title: Environmental Compliance Officer Location: Rapid City, SD Employment Type: Full-time Salary Range: $56,000 - $81,000 Annually Depending on Experience Project Solutions, Inc.
is seeking a qualified Environmental Compliance Officer to support a potential contract project in collaboration with the South Dakota Army National Guard (SDARNG) Environmental Programs Branch (CFMO-EV).
This position will be responsible for conducting inspections, maintain environmental records and update management plans.

Position Overview Maintain, review, and revise the Environmental Management System (eMS) SOP; Hazardous Waste Management Plan; Solid Waste Management Plan Update, review, and perform audits of recycling vendors.
Conduct solid waste surveys of SDARNG facilities.
Identify new methods of pollution prevention/recycling.
Implement pollution prevention best practices.
Maintain, review, and revise Qualified Recycling Program Plan.
Identify new methods of pollution prevention/recycling per DoD Qualified Recycling Plan.
Assist with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) tasks.
Assist with obtaining, modifying, or renewing National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits under the Clean Water Act.
Assist and/or conduct Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) inspections and audits covering all applicable federal, state, local, DOD, NGB, SDARNG laws, regulations, and policies.
Required education, knowledge and skills Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred At least 3 years of experience in environmental compliance in a military or government setting preferred Knowledge of Federal, State, DoD, NGB, and SDARNG environmental laws and regulations Strong understanding of environmental management systems (eMS) and environmental compliance documentation.
Understanding of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste management and Hazardous Materials Management.
Familiarity with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and Facility Response Plans (FRP).
Ability to conduct inspections, assessments, and audits to ensure compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and environmental compliance software.
