Dakota Mill & Grain, Inc.

This position will provide excellent customer service with the timely arrival/delivery of agricultural products while meeting company deadlines.
Have a full understanding of the Bill of Lading and E-log use as well as governing federal restrictions of transportation use.
Drivers will be responsible for the condition of their truck/ trailer combination.
Vehicle cleanliness and serviceability are important aspects of the company’s customer service stance.
This position has the potential for routine overnight sleeper cab use.
A valid Class A CDL is required.

Essential Functions:
Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
Transports and loads safely and in a timely manner over the required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follow loading crew signals.
Assists with the loading/unloading of goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted.
Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to the shipping office or other appropriate staff when the delivery route is complete.
Facilitates routine service on trucks, including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to the Trucking Manager.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and physical
High school diploma/GED preferred
Valid Class A driver’s license in good standing, with no serious tickets or accidents in the last five years and no DWI/DUI in the last ten years
2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred
Ability to work overtime as required, including some weekends
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally
Positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
Demonstrate and promote safety and proper housekeeping
Wear and maintain personal protective equipment as directed by company policy
Maintain acceptable personal hygiene
Physical Requirements
Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) occasionally throughout the work shift with or without assistance
Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways
Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc.
Frequent exposure to noise and dust
Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment
Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required
