Northwestern Engineering Company/NWE Management Company is seeking a full-time candidate for the position of Accounting Specialist in the Rapid City office to support our property management, hospitality, and wood products operations.
We estimate about half of the candidate’s time will be spent on Human Resources and benefits and the other half of the time will be spent on various accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable
Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
Provide backup processing and support for accounts payable
Prepare and maintain accurate work papers, and general ledger account reconciliations
Assist with financial statement preparations
Maintain and develop efficient financial policies and procedures
Assist management with financial information as requested
Coordinate and manage special projects that improve both accounting and operational functions
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
5 or more years of accounting experience (commercial real estate accounting preferred)
Associate’s degree in accounting or related field
Sound knowledge of accounting functions and general office practices
Strong research, analytical, communication, and organization skills
Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects
Ability to collaborate consistently with our casual but highly professional culture
MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook experience
